Speech Therapy and Phonics
My 5-year-old son has speech problems. He has been receiving speech therapy through a school program for the past two school years. If I purchase a phonics program, will this help him with his speech and do you think I will see a difference in his speech by the end of summer?
In my school, we have several children with speech delays. I commend you for having him with a speech therapist. Phonics programs teach small children reading concepts by using visual aids, music, blending skills, and phonics pronunciation. As a teacher, I don’t think it is a directly a speech program, but rather a reading program. However, the side benefits of using the program can directly affect speech patterns of small children. Good luck and enjoy working with your child.
