One question that I have always had is whether or not whoever designs your logo gets a royalty every time it is used. I think most people just get an upfront fee, but why is that? Musicians get royalties for their music, and so why don’t artists or logo designers? Or how come they don’t at least get their name or initials next to the logo. For instance, I would like to know who designed the Nike Swoosh. It is a great logo, and whoever designed it should be rich, but I doubt they are. I guess logos are simply assets not artworks to most companies, and so they want to pay once for the whole thing, instead of worrying how many times they are or aren’t using it.
