When you own your own business, it is important to have excellent customer service skills over the phone. You are going to need to be able to answer questions and stay calm with angry or frustrated customers. This is the only instance where working as a telemarketer may pay off. I worked as a telemarketer for about a year until I couldn’t stand it anymore, but now I am much better at speaking clearly and calmly on the telephone.
