Moderation In Everything

Friday, April 24th, 2009

When thinking about nutrition, most people assume that the more the better when it comes to vitamins. Just like everything else in regards to your body, moderation is always the best policy. You should never have too much fat or sugar, but you do need some. The same concept applies to vitamins and minerals. You need to make sure you are getting enough, but you shouldn’t over do it because you may be harming your body. For instance, many people take loads of vitamin C to prevent colds or get over one. It is definitely important to get plenty of vitamin C, but too much can harden your arteries, leading to heart problems.

Whole Food, Less Money

Tuesday, January 6th, 2009

I love to buy whole foods. I think it is great, and that they actually do taste better. However, I rarely purchase anything that is from the actual store Whole Foods, or anything that is similar in a grocery store. It is great to get as a treat every once in a while, but I am not going to spend at least a dollar extra on everything just to have it say organic, or something to that extent. I could, but I choose not to so that I can save money. Once organic food is cheaper, or once I have more money than I know what to do with, I will buy organic and whole foods. Until then though, you won’t see me spending my extra cash on that.
