When you are looking for people to network with, it is important not to eliminate people simply by their looks or due to the circumstances in which you meet them. Sometimes the best networking opportunities come from random places and events. For instance, a friend of mine met her future employer at a church party not at a career festival or something like that. It is easy to talk with people at events where you share a similar interest, and usually if you share interests you will work well together. Always ask people what they do wherever you are or however they look. You never know where or when you will make a great connection.
